本種は鳥取、愛媛、鹿児島のイネ科から採集された標本を基に記載され、中国からも記録されている。最近、栃木県のイネ科から採集されている。H. cephalicaによく似るが、腹部第9節がやや短いことで識別できる。オスは未知。

This species was described based on the specimens collected from Poaceae in Honshu (Tottori), Shikoku (Ehime) and Kyushu (Kagoshima), and is recorded from China. It is very similar to H. cephalica but can be distinguished by the abdominal segment IX shorter. Male is unknown.
